How Can I Increase My Score?
Sometimes it can be difficult to increase your score over the short run. However, removing errors is
one way to quickly improve your credit score. If you have documentation that refutes information on
your credit report, we can present it to the credit bureau for you and once corrected, request a
"forced" re-score of your rating which can raise your score. This can be done relatively fast, usually
in 3-5 business days. Please contact your AmeriStar Loan Officer for more details. Otherwise,

Lastly, please remember that if there is any way to improve your credit score, as our customer we
will do all we can to do so, and AmeriStar never charges a fee for that, it's all a part of the service
level we routinely provide our customers.
(Please note that the credit bureaus do charge an update per line item for expedited corrections, and re-score
fees, but this gets the corrections and scores done quickly. Otherwise, corrections can take 30 days or more to be
reflected on your credit report.)

- Pay your bills on time. Late payments and collections can have a serious impact on your
score. - Do not apply for credit frequently. Having a large number of inquiries on your credit report
can worsen your score. - Reduce your credit card balances. If you are "maxed" out on your credit cards, this will affect
your credit score negatively. If you must carry balances, try to keep them at 50% of the credit
limit. - If you have limited credit, obtain additional credit. Not having sufficient credit can negatively
impact your score as well.
